Helena Schmidt, a partner in Deloitte's tax department, is the new head of Deloitte's Croatian office, and in addition to her regular duties, she will be in charge of the organization of the Croatian office and its further development.
Helena has more than 20 years of experience in tasks related to providing support to clients in their business from the tax aspect. She is an internationally recognized expert on indirect taxation and is regularly named a leading expert on indirect taxation by the International Tax Review. Within Deloitte Croatia, he leads a team that specializes in all aspects of taxation with value added tax and excise duties, and a team in charge of accounting, reporting and service provision in a model in which clients entrust their accounting and tax functions to an external professional partner.
She graduated in economics from the Faculty of Economics of the University of Zagreb and has an EMBA degree from the Cotrugli Business School.
Helena is the head of the initiative for the development and coordination of clients and industries in Central Europe within the tax function. Also, she has been the long-term leader of Deloitte's SheXO initiative to encourage diversity in various management areas and structures within the organization.

At the same time, Dražen Nimčević, former head of the Croatian office and partner in the tax department, is leaving his position as a partner and will take up an advisory position within the company and will be in charge of talent development. His rich experience and expertise will be key factors in the further development of Deloitte's talents.
