Meeting with Zrinka Ujević

AmCham representatives met with Zrinka Ujević, Head of the European Commission Representation in Croatia, to discuss the challenges faced by the business community in Croatia regarding the absorption of EU funds.

Through its position paper, “Challenges in the Absorption of EU Funds in Croatia,” AmCham outlined proposals across three key areas Improvement of existing digital systems, Expansion and clearer interpretation of state aid rules and the Procedural and time efficiency of the system.

AmCham’s recommendations aim to enhance procedures and increase the efficiency of drawing EU funds in Croatia, whether through the NextGenerationEU program or the EU's Multiannual Financial Framework.

“Croatia has a significant potential for the use of grants under EU funds, which can significantly boost the development of entrepreneurship and bring it closer to the average level of development in the EU.” said Andrea Doko Jelušić, Executive Director of AmCham.

Ms. Ujević welcomed cooperation with AmCham and emphasized that the presented position paper offers clear and actionable proposals for improving the EU funds system.

Alongside Ms. Ujević, the meeting was attended by Andrea Čović Vidović, Deputy Head of European Commission in Croatia and Head of Media; Hana Huzjak, Senior Economic Advisor; and Denis Redžepagić, Political Reporter at the Representation. AmCham was represented by Hrvoje Jelić, Chair of AmCham’s Trade and Investment Committee (PwC Croatia); Martina Dragičević, Member of the Trade and Investment Committee (A1 Croatia); Dora Medved, Member of the Trade and Investment Committee (Hrvatski Telekom); and Dražen Malbašić, Policy Director, AmCham.
