AMA/MCE track the adoption of AI and organizational challenges which AI technologies brings with them since 2023.
In annual surveys, 1200 knowledge workers are questioned on various aspects of AI acceptance, ranging from strategic alignment to impact on employees and learning needs.
The just published results for 2024 show that last year was a real turning point in most corporations, when it comes to embracing AI. Companies no longer discuss the “if” but rather the “how”. The dominant conversation has shifted to strategic questions and using AI technologies to improve performance and outpace competitors.
On average 57% of companies state that they are rapidly developing AI know-how. For large organizations, with over 500 employees, this number is 70%. The downside, however, is that while overall corporate AI implementation is on a positive trajectory, employees within the same companies have real issues in keeping up with the change. Nearly 6 out 10 employees already consider themselves left “behind” when it comes to AI knowledge. And as even faster AI change is practically around the corner, the competency and learning gap will pose a big problem in both the short and medium term.
